Miuccia is, as always, herself. She went for a darker collection, almost Victorian, with cuts and shapes than remind me of my beloved McQueen’s collection for 2008 F/W. But always very Prada, nevertheless. The textures were sublime, the outfits simple yet majestic and the Brigitte Bardot hairdos ironic. What was not as ironic, as humorous, was her clear intent to go curvy… No one could have scrolled through her entire collection and ignore the unusual models… Putting Miranda and Doutzen, however surprising for Prada's catwalk, was rather canny, since the girls previously did some high fashion, not too long ago. But…Alessandra?! When she was younger, I would totally say, why not?, but she looks aged to me… Personal tastes apart, Miuccia is one of the leading designers nowadays, so let’s hope that this marks a shift towards fuller and more matured look faces and bodies, ‘cause, let’s admit, a woman brings so much more allure to the runway… Speaking of clothes again, Prada revisited her strengths, just check out the prints, embroidery, lady-cuts, her classic knitwear and a lot, lot more! The clear reference to the…well…chest area of the models was unavoidable, too! In a crisis environment, nothing is better than bringing back some class…That never fails!!!
