Valentino HC 2010 Spring

I didn't had the change to do post about the most criticized show of the past Haute Couture season, but I have now!
It was a circus! And no, I'm not talking about the actual show, but about his reactions... "Fire them", "Valentino is dead", "This is copycat", etc., etc. where some of the sentences that run through the fashion world.
My point of view? I think this collection seemed too crowded with ideas, too many experiencing and some looks...ouch...where did that come from?! On the other hand, however, the vibe of the show was exquisite, imo. The materials, the lightness, the ethereal silhouettes, the head-pieces (GENIUS!), the makeup, the ruffled romantic touch... A lot of outfits were actually a dream, like Piccioli and Chiuri wanted it to be! Oh no, you won't find much of Valentino's aesthetic, at least if you don't search attentively, and, in my opinion, that couldn't be a bad thing. Everyone that wasn't a blind fan of the old Valentino could see that is collections were lacking creativity, he just kept doing the same type of clothing over and over again. At least, that was how I saw Valentino. Then, these two designers came and, although they have a lot to learn in their path of modernizing the house of Valentino, they can do wonders! Their 2010 S/S collection was the FIRST collection ever from the brand that I LOVED!!! From what I see, they shouldn't be fired, they're talented and soon enough most people will start to appreciate their designs, keep in mind that most transitions are difficult, especially for people that adored a brand for a long time.
I leave you with some of the controversial images:
